Meredith Legg is a graduate student in Political Science at the University of Central Florida and has written poetry for about twelve years. She is an avid reader, writer and academic and was a regular poet at the spoken word night Speakeasy at Will's Pub. Although words are purely intellectual/conceptual, she finds poetry to be the best human-devised system of expression and has always gravitated toward language to capture her inner nature. Poetry has continually provided her solace throughout her life through its therapeutic, meditative qualities. Her poetry has been described as passionate, expressive, cryptic, emotional, and vivid. Her work is influenced by emotionality, nature, meditation, Feminism, subjective experience, political theory, and finding the extraordinary in the mundane.
