TAMMY WINAND   twinand@crypticfragments.com   www.CrypticFragments.com

Tammy Winand was born in York, PA in August 1968, graduated from Dallastown High School in 1986 and briefly attended West Chester University, where she studied French and creative writing. She relocated to central Florida in 1992, and has lived in Kissimmee, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando and Madeira Beach most of the years since, with extended stays in Ireland and the United Kingdom, as well as visits to Provence and Paris.  Her interest in the arts developed during junior high school with a passion for writing and has since turned to focus on visual arts. She has had several poems published by literary magazines, but in the past few years has focused on visual art including acrylic painting, polymer clay, and original jewelry.

 Artist's Statement:
My work focuses on connections. The connection between the past and the present, between different cultures, between man and nature, even between colors and forms.
I am strongly influenced by the architecture and pottery of ancient Mediterranean and Celtic civilizations, by sacred spaces, the lifestyle of modern "exotic" lands, and by the power of nature to reclaim what man has built into the landscape.
My goal is to translate my life experience and journey through symbolism which can be interpreted by a broad audience. I hope to inspire others to reach for their dreams and live full rich lives."

Terry Olson is the Arts & Cultural Affairs Director for Orange County.  This position in a huge bureaucracy is something fairly new to him.  He's been a producer and performer for most of his life having been one of the founders of the Orlando Fringe Festival, SAK and SAKComedy Lab, the Orlando Theatre Project, the Downtown Arts District, City Arts Factory and more.  He moved to Orlando in 1982 after having been on the road for a couple years performing at Renaissance Festivals across North America.  He's married to actor/writer/director/teacher Robin Olson and has a 10 year old daughter who won a cash prize in an employee/family art contest last year.  He's been to to see exhibitions and performances at more than 100 venues and organizations in Central Florida and if you let him know about some arts group/event he hasn't connected with, you'll likely find him "checking it out" in the near future.

Let me know what I can do to help elevate the status of arts & culture in Central Florida.

inspirational statement sent by email from Terry:

Keep working on your skills, keep learning about life and people - especially those around you that are different than you are, and keep exploring ways to mix those artistic skills with what you are learning about people and life to create work that some one will encounter in a way that causes them to think or feel more than they are already thinking or feeling - and will in the end help them be more human and a better citizen because of that.
